It's that time again!!!

Last night we tried to nail down the final selection of songs for the Kingdom 2012 from Skelley's All Star List. I didn't take any pictures- but I don't think I have laughed that hard in a long time! We watched several other musical productions- as well as our version of the Promise- back in the '90's. Wow, our set has changed, we've changed, and all for the better. I love our core team, and wouldn't trade our time for anything! Can't wait for Kingdom 2012! And yes, next time I'll take some pictures!

I'm not even sure where to start!!! The Kingdom was AWESOME this year- our best ever!!! I wasn't so sure after a very rough dress rehearsal, but the Friday night performance was our best Friday night ever! Enjoy my pictures!!!

Some Funnies/things to Remember:
*Sunday Night's Lord Supper Basket- there were Easter cookies and Muffin on the table....wonder who did that!!
*T Forner Signature Shots- just aim your camera in a general direction with a slight slant and you have a Tom Forner Original Picture!
*Walter and his poor black fabric- We never did get the ascension like we wanted it, there is always next year though!!!
*Choir Headpieces- a few even had the Sara Holloway Original Doo Doo Ball Headpiece....too funny!
*"This color doesn't look good on me, this isn't my costume from last year, I don't like my robe this year...." They don't look good on anyone...it's a bathrobe for crying out loud!!!
* The Torches and lighter fluid spillage on the Lords Supper Table Dress Rehearsal Night- whoo did I smell after that!!!
* The Prop Signs that didn't read right: Adulterous Woman Rocks, Lame Crutch, and Mary's Stool...hmmmm.
* Did we see the Boom Boom Sweep Lights????
* The stage is too dark during this scene, no it's too bright, no it's not enough light.....
* The Guard Torches must be bigger- so burlap and fire go together now right???
* Walters Poor Broken Big Toe.....

Well, it's over.....actually the performance is over but not the memories, and the take down is just now starting. I'm amazed every year how great The Kingdom turns out to be. It really makes it all worth it when just one life is changed. Every year we have our problems and issues, but they always seem to work out and the program turns out even better than we could ever imagine!

Last night's performance was one to remember for sure. We surprised the Lords Supper Dinner Guests with Easter Cookies and even a banana nut muffin! I think the disciples were tickled on the stage to look down and see some cookies....but they had to have some kind of cookies in Jerusalem right?

We even had our first real injury last night. Poor Walter. The man who plays the part of Jesus is such a true joy and blessing to work with. He does an awesome job with his part....one which is very tough to play!!! During the crucifixion scene, the cross beam fell on his foot....breaking what we think is his big toe. He finished the performance with a smile and the same gracious attitude he always seems to have. I, on the other hand, knew exactly how he felt since I have broken my big toe too! I joked with Walter about how at least he broke his doing something noble- where I just plain broke it in flip flops at a swimming pool.

Walter was even able to finish the performance and the ascension.....with a smile and that same gracious attitude he always seems to have...... the Lord is good. I'm still in amazement at what He has done. He has risen indeed!!!!! I'll post pics later on in the week...now off to take down props and finish choir costumes!

The choir blocking went very smoothly thanks to the Choir leaders. The choir is doing a wonderful job. I think all I did was run on the blocking....got my exercise for sure!

Last night we worked at church on the Kingdom Set. It is a lot of work, but VERY well organized- Ronnie and Sharon Barker do a wonderful job. Mom and I were able to work on staging, props, and even costumes last night. Dad, Luke, and Reed worked again on lighting. Russ Rhodes and Troy Cheatham fixed us a WONDERFUL dinner of Chicken Spaghetti, Salad, and Brownies. It really hit the spot. Enjoy the pictures!!!

We had a blast in the costume and main cast closet yesterday. We wanted to take pictures of ideas for headpieces. When I got home yesterday afternoon the beards I ordered from Nightmare Factory were in. Luke and I had some fun too! I think they might work in TFDL (Twenty Feet Dim light)...we'll see what the team thinks!

Last Wednesday night we started costuming the choir. It was too much fun!!! Everyone had a number and a costume....some tried theirs on, others chose not too. The new people in choir this year weren't sure what was going on when they tried on their costumes. Laughter was heard throughout the hallways. We have one more Wednesday night to costume....so I'll have more pics to come soon!

This week I have been working in the Choir Costume Closet getting ready for our big fitting days starting next week. Yesterday, I was feeling VERY overwhelmed at the task ahead, and then something VERY wonderful happened. I found an item I had been stressing over for weeks....it was in the other closet!!!!! The Lord reminded me in that tiny little closet, all by myself, that He knew where it was all along. HE knew it would work out, and HE knew I needed to find that item at the exact moment I did. I sat in that tiny little closet and cried real tears of joy. No matter how big or small our problems are, they are REAL to the Lord....and He reminded me of that very thought yesterday. It was a great day to remember!!!

We had our first official group meeting last Thursday night in the conference room at church. There was a lot of laughter heard around the room. We went over the script, heard our new songs, and talked about a lot. I think we are getting there in preparations!!!!
